Near Miss This Weekend, But More Snow Threats On The Way

Sunday's coastal low too far south and east for snow in Baltimore

Weak low approaching on the first day of Winter

Potential Christmas Day snowstorm

Afternoon computer models continue to indicate low pressure moving across the deep south tonight and Saturday will miss the Baltimore area, passing too far south and east on Sunday afternoon.  However, a powerful storm off the west coast of the U.S. will help to send a series of low pressure systems eastbound next week.  Each of these will bring a chance of snow.  These system will be racing across the country in a relatively flat upper air pattern so timing them might be difficult, but the first one looks weaker and drier and is forecast to arrive here in Maryland with the Winter Solstice on Tuesday evening.  The second possible storm looks stronger and wetter and is scheduled to arrive Christmas Eve. into Christmas Day.  Stay tuned!
