Clipper-like Storm Drops Light Snow

Today’s snow producing low pressure system wasn’t really an “Alberta Clipper” because it actually came out of Oklahoma.  But, in a more general sense it was a “clipper” because it was quick hitting, starved for moisture, and produced a light, slippery, powdery snow.  Reports indicate this one produced anywhere from a dusting up to 2″ of snow for our area, but with temperatures expected to drop from the mid 20s into the mid teens overnight, be wary of icy roads, sidewalks, and porches.  And, stay tuned for the latest on the potential for a wetter coastal storm developing over the weekend.  More on that later tonight.
