Thursday Tropical Update

Today, a beautiful full disk image of earth from GOES East.

Hurricane Bill sits in the tropical Atlantic, all by itself. The storm has weakened slightly to category three as it continues to move to the northwest. The forecast track continues the idea that the storm will remain at sea, passing north of the Caribbean Islands, then turning northward and passing between the U.S. coast and Bermuda. Bill may ultimately make landfall in the Canadian Maritime Provinces late in the weekend or early next week as a marginal hurricane or tropical storm.
