More Rain

Another day, another chance for rain.

Maryland is on the warm side of a boundary that stretches westward toward the Mississippi Valley. With the approach of a cold front it is expected that more thunderstorms will develop in the warm, humid, unstable air mass this afternoon.

The Storm Prediction Center has placed the Mid Atlantic region in the eastern edge of an area that has a slight risk for severe storms. Damaging wind, hail and frequent lightening are the highest risk today in any developing storms.

The ground is saturated from recent rainfall and much of the area west of the Bay is under a Flash Flood Watch this afternoon and overnight.

Drier weather is expected by the weekend but keep the umbrella handy today.
