Saturday Night Storm Update

Just a quick update on the outlook for the nor’easter expected to develop Sunday night. The image below shows the revised snow accumulation estimates of the computer model we use frequently.

This latest estimate shows the heaviest accumulations a bit farther east than previous estimates. As of this model run, areas east and south of Baltimore City would receive 2-6 inches of snow with areas north and west of the city receiving 2 inches or less. The Eastern Shore and southern Maryland would receive the heaviest snowfall with an estimated 4-8 inches possible.

This latest update, plus data from other computer models, hints that the storm center may track a little farther east and it shows that additional data will be needed before a firm forecast on snowfall from this storm can be made.

It’s not a done deal so, stay tuned.
