Temperatures Looking Up

Tuesday started with only a thin deck of clouds overhead.

The storm to our west has looked impressive on satellite pictures but the rain threat from it for today is somewhat limited. A few rain showers are possible and the best chance for that, if it happens at all, would likely be later today. In the mean time a southerly flow of air will continue to provide for unseasonably mild temperatures in the Mid Atlantic region.

namussfcwbg1The morning surface map shows the warm front straddling the region. It will be responsible for the periods of cloudiness expected today.

The best rain chance will come late Wednesday as a low pressure feature now in the southern Rockies strengthens and eventually moves east. Ahead of it, mild temperatures and generally nice weather.

Enjoy the extended period of springlike weather while we have it. As I mentioned in my previous blog entry, it is still February.
