Saturday Dusting

A “clipper” weather system pushed into the area this afternoon generating snow showers and some light accumulations.

Snow reports received as of 9:00pm:

  • Elkton .7″
  • Westminster .6″
  • American Corner “Mist”
  • Hunt Valley .5″
  • Linthicum Heights .1″
  • Rosedale .3″
  • Millers .5″
  • Manchester .3″
  • Damascus .3″
  • Oxon Hill .3″
  • Tysons Corner .1″
  • Bayard(W Va) .8″

In some cases enough snow accumulated on pavement to cause slippery driving conditions. In most cases wet pavement resulted. Overnight temperatures will drop below freezing and wet surfaces will ice over. Caution is advised.

Strong northwest winds behind the “clipper” will reinforce the cold air already in place. Sunday will be a raw day with the wind chill factor making temperatures feel like the teens and 20s at times.  This will be a little rough on the tailgaters at the Ravens-Redskins game late in the day. The wind should diminish by game time but temperatures will be falling through the 20s. Bundle up!
