Snowy December 5th

tt_5dec2

Recently, there has been something about the 5th day of December that brings out the snow in central and eastern Maryland! The record book shows three significant snowfalls on December 5th all occurring within three years. At BWI-Marshall, a record 7.4″ fell on December 5, 2002 followed by 6.8″ on the same day the following year. Then, after skipping 2004, the December 5th snow was back in 2005 with 3.3″ at the airport. The December 5, 2003 snowstorm lapped over into the 6th as well, producing a two day total of more than a foot in much of the Baltimore metro area, including an impressive 14″ in Bel Air.
