The Chill of ’08

Although November here in Baltimore started with a nine day stretch of warmer than normal weather, the chill has returned this week and the contiguous United States, as a whole, has experienced a cooler than normal 2008 so far. The desert southwest and parts of the mid Atlantic and northeast have had warmer than normal temperatures this year, but the rest of the nation has been normal or cooler than normal. In fact, parts of the Pacific northwest, midwest and gulf coast have seen temperatures much below normal. Only eastern Virginia has reported temperatures much above normal.
