Wow! This storm would be impressive in January or February, but November?!? Reports out of western South Dakota this evening show snowfall totals of nearly 40″ at Deadwood with winds gusting to 55 mph. some specific observations as of 6pm EST:

Ellsworth Air Force Base:
Weather: Heavy snow
Temp: 28 degrees
Winds: Northwest 49 mph, Gusts: 55 mph

Weather: Moderate Snow
Temp: 25
Winds: Northwest 32 mph, Gusts: 46 mph

Weather: Light Snow
Temp: 30
Winds: Northwest 36 mph, Gusts: 51 mph

The center of this storm will pass well to the north and west of Maryland, but the cold front trailing from the storm will sweep through here Saturday afternoon. Unseasonably mild temperatures should hold in Maryland through the first half of Saturday before a piece of the chilly air behind this Dakota blizzard arrives Saturday night and Sunday.
