Ike Closing In On Texas

Late Thursday morning Ike was 470 miles east-southeast of Galveston, Texas with winds clocked at 100 mph (category 2 hurricane).

Ike is expected to become a category 3 hurricane. The current forecast track has Ike making landfall along the Texas Gulf coast early Saturday, most likely somewhere between Galveston and Corpus Christi.
