Hurricane Ike has weakened to a category one hurricane as of Monday evening with winds of 80 mph.The NOAA satellite picture above shows the storm’s position late Monday morning. Ike’s interaction with Cuba has contributed to it’s weakening. Ike is expected to turn to the northwest and move over the warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico, eventually rebuilding to category three.
