Thursday Evening Tropical Update

Tropical Storm Hanna is still disorganized looking but is on the move. Despite it’s ragged look, Hanna has been able to maintain 65 mph winds.

The NOAA satellite picture above shows both Tropical Storm Hanna and Hurricane Ike. Ike has a well defined eye and is a category 4 storm with winds blowing at 135 mph.

The official forecast track for Hanna still has the storm heading for North Carolina and then on to the vicinity of the DELMARVA Peninsula on Saturday as a tropical storm. It looks like it could be a windy, wet day in the region. The National Weather Service chart below shows the rainfall forecast estimates along the path of Hanna.
