Next Hurricane?

The NOAA/NASA picture below shows a fairly well organized tropical wave passing over Puerto Rico and the island of Hispaniola (Dominican Republic/Haiti).

As of Friday morning the storm was not well enough developed to be considered a Tropical Depression but the outflow pattern around the storm since Thursday has become very evident. The upper air pattern is conducive to further development but additional strengthening and organization of the wave may hinge on the storm’s passage over the mountainous terrain of Hispaniola and, beyond that, Cuba. If the storm successfully develops it could become Fay.
