Coastal Storm

A coastal storm is developing. The energy that will help the storm develop will move across the southeastern states overnight and a low pressure center will take form off the Carolina coast.

The low is expected to move northeastward along the coast on Sunday and pass to the east of Mid Atlantic beaches. The final word is not in yet on how close the low pressure center will be to the coast. As of Saturday evening it appears that there will not be enough cold air around to generate a significant snow in the Baltimore Metro area. Indications are that the area between New York City and Boston will catch the significant snowfall with 6-10 inches possible. Travel on the ground and in the air along the I-95 corridor between Philadelphia and Boston could be troublesome.
