Dean…Beautiful Pictures, Ugly Storm

The satellite pictures of hurricane Dean are spectacularly beautiful, from a meteorological viewpoint, in stark contrast to the ugly destruction the storm produces along its path. Dean, by the way, was one of only 10 known storms to make landfall in the Atlantic basin as a category 5 storm. The list of cat. 5 landfalls:
