Heat Wave and the Record Book

The heat wave continues but so far, no broken records.

It appears that the hottest days this week will be today and tomorrow. It is not likely that we can tie or break the record high for today but tomorrow’s record is vulnerable. Here is how the rest of the week stacks up in the record books:

Tuesday – Record High 105(1918) … Record High Minimum 78(1924)
Wednesday – Record High 99(1980) … Record High Minimum 80(1900)
Thursday – Record High 101(1930) … Record High Minimum 81(1900)
Friday – Record High 100(1900) … Record High Minimum 80(1900)

So far this summer season (June 1 through August 6) the temperatures have hit 90 degrees or warmer 22 times.

June – 7 days(average 5-6)
July – 10 days(average 12)
August – 5

A cool front is expected to drop into the area tomorrow and bring temperatures closer to average for the rest of the week.
